Shropshire Rural Support, has praised the commitment, time and expertise of its volunteer team, who continue to provide essential support to people living and working in rural areas.
Among those recognised is volunteer Laura Pritchard, who has spoken about the positive impact volunteering has had on her own life. She described the experience as highly rewarding, saying that by sharing her time and knowledge she has been able to make a meaningful difference to individuals across Shropshire, while also gaining a strong sense of purpose and fulfilment.
Her story reflects the wider contribution of volunteers involved with the charity, who support its work week after week in a variety of roles.
Volunteers are central to the organisation’s ability to deliver services, and the charity is now encouraging more people to consider getting involved.
Kate Jones, Fundraising Manager commented "we are always looking for caring and committed individuals to join the volunteer team, whether they bring specialist skills or simply a willingness to help their local community. We are incredibly proud of our volunteers and the difference they make every day,“If you can spare a few hours each month, we would love to hear from you.”
Those interested in volunteering can contact the charity at gareth@shropshireruralsupport.org.uk.
Volunteers’ Week 2026 provides an opportunity to recognise and thank volunteers across the UK for their invaluable contributions to communities.
