Stanley Hall Luncheon Success

Mon Mar 16th, 2026

Guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Oak Apple Catering, followed by an inspiring and enthusiastic talk from Cheshire farmer, Rosie Lee. Rosie shared the story of her journey from the corporate world into sheep farming, as well as her work in education and supporting children with disabilities, an engaging and uplifting account that was warmly received by everyone present.

Our sincere thanks go to our generous hosts, Michael and Clare Thompson, and to the Wheatland Hunt for the use of their marquee, which provided a beautiful setting for the event. Thank you to all the volunteers and guests who supported.

The luncheon was organised in collaboration with The Friends of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital, and we are delighted that the event raised more than £3,000, which will be shared between the two charities.

Testimonials

When I retired I looked around to see how I could help local farmers as they battled with the ups and downs of farming and running their family businesses. As a volunteer with Shropshire Rural Support, I feel I can really help farmers who need someone to talk to who understands their situation. I find it rewarding to give a bit back to a way of life that has served me well and I love.
